What Should Be Noted When Using Controllable Gas Springs?

Controllable gas spring is an industrial accessory that has the functions of supporting, buffering, braking, adjusting height and angle. Mainly used for cover plates, doors and other parts of construction machinery.
It consists of the following parts: pressure cylinder, piston rod, piston, sealing guide sleeve, filling material (inert gas or oil gas mixture), in cylinder control element and out cylinder control element (referring to controllable gas spring) and connecting parts.
The working principle of a controllable gas spring is to fill a closed pressure cylinder with inert gas or a mixture of oil and gas, causing the pressure inside the chamber to be several times or tens of times higher than atmospheric pressure. The pressure difference generated by the cross-sectional area of the piston rod being smaller than the cross-sectional area of the piston rod is used to achieve the movement of the piston rod.
Due to the harsh working environment of construction machinery, there is a high requirement for the sealing of gas springs. When using, dust and other debris should be avoided from entering the gas springs. In addition, sharp tools should be prevented from scratching or damaging the surface of the gas spring piston rod, and paint and corrosive chemicals should not be applied to the piston rod.

2. The working stroke of the controllable gas spring should be increased by a certain margin (about 10mm) to avoid the impact of errors during installation on the service life and performance of the gas spring.
3. Gas springs configured on construction machinery have a short service life in outdoor environments, and should be considered in design.
The ambient temperature range of controllable gas springs is generally -35~60
5. Gas springs cannot withstand lateral or oblique forces during operation, otherwise eccentric wear may occur, leading to early failure of the gas spring. This is also a design consideration.
6. For lightweight door structures without locking devices, the design should ensure that after the door is closed, the connection between the fixed and movable support points of the controllable gas spring passes through the rotation center to ensure that the elastic force of the gas spring can close the door, otherwise the gas spring often pushes the door open; For heavier door structures (machine covers), provide locking devices.
7. When the controllable gas spring is closed and working, there should be no relative movement, and its continuous expansion and contraction should be controlled within the required range.
The door structure of construction machinery (such as the lid of a machine) is generally relatively heavy. When selecting gas springs, consideration should be given to gas springs with safety devices to avoid safety hazards caused by gas spring failure.
9. Controllable gas springs should not be used as limiting devices, but additional limiting devices should be added. Generally, rubber heads are used to limit the position.
